Core components of the engine

The engine is the heart of traditional cars, and its components are the most difficult to process and require the strictest precision.
The cylinder block and cylinder head are mainly made of aluminum alloy and cast iron. The rough machining of aluminum alloy cylinder body requires a large amount of material removal. It is recommended to use PCD cutting tools combined with high-speed milling to greatly improve efficiency; The precision boring of cylinder holes relies on a rigid precision boring tool system to ensure that the cylindricity and surface roughness meet the sealing requirements of piston rings. The milling surface of cast iron cylinder requires extremely high flatness, and CBN cutting tools can achieve the effect of milling instead of grinding during the precision milling stage.
Crankshafts are often made of forged steel or ductile iron. For rough machining of the main shaft neck and connecting rod neck, ceramic blades can be selected for high-speed dry turning. For precision machining, CBN blades are required to ensure the roundness of the shaft neck and the surface quality of Ra<0.4 μ m. The drilling of crankshaft oil holes belongs to deep hole machining, and it is recommended to use hard alloy gun drills with internal cold holes to ensure smooth chip discharge.
Connecting rods are typical parts produced in large quantities, and the precision of their large and small hole machining directly affects engine performance. It is recommended to use a combination of hard alloy drilling and reaming cutters or boring cutters to complete multiple processes in one clamping, balancing efficiency and accuracy.
